chilly day in chicago...

i love this city--but it's a cloudy memorial day here. i was supposed to go to a BBQ but it got rained out. so i'm makin the best of it and makin crepes (yay france!) and also trying new nummy recipes. makes me want to reminisce on old good times had in the sun. i wish you all the best times and hopefully where you are, the sun is a-shinin'.

soundtrack for the day: jaymay-autumn fallin'

please enjoy the pictues. they are for sale, because, well, they are simply lovely and i adore how they turned out. they are from a wedding i did last summer. the couple is expecting their first child, Juniper, this coming summer. Congrats, you two!!

jewelry makin!

here are my latest items for sale. all earrings are a reasonable $8 + shipping. handmade, a lot of the materials are reused jewelry or collected items.

there's so much i want to share!

this past week i've been thinking a lot about transitions. transitions into a new life, city, friends, etc. it takes me back to when i was studying in paris, france. i was so young, yet it was a mere two years ago. i was more lost than ever, yet i found comfort in new friends and new streets. i need to find that again.

here's some pictures that scream nostalgia :)

this was an amazing little antique boutique i stumbled upon. i remember the weather was warm...and they had everything you could imagine in this store. even an old working record player (300 euro!!)

good friends. laura & victor. riding the train together.

shimmy shimmy by the louvre. i have a whole series of pictures of me doing kartwheels in famous places. the guy's expression is priceless!

i organized a scavenger hunt for all my friends and we were to rendez-vous under the eiffel tower. this is one of my most memorable nights so far. (we're holding a bottle of champagne!)

during the scavenger hunt, we had to get at least three hugs from strangers. here we are making "free hugs" signs. we got loads of free hugs, although french people aren't fond of touching strangers.

this is one of my all-time favorite photos of mine. we were walking down a favorite "rue" of mine and i saw this couple kissing. the woman noticed me snapping photos so she bashfully stopped kissing her beau and giggled at me. simply adorable.

my parents came to visit for a week and bought me my favorite flowers, some gerber daisies. we went walking through the rainy streets, stopping at anything that caught our interest. i took some sweet pics.

saw this and couldn't help but snicker.

i won a contest for this photo! i was so excited...it captures all my friends and the thing we did best--jumping!!

home, at last!!

dear friends,
i've just recently made it back home to graduate from college (yippee!!) and i thought i'd share some of my favorite photos from hanging out with my momma and very dear puppy, jake. these are taken on my farm, a place i've been aching to see for the last few months. since the weather has been a dream, i've been makin pies in the morning, then hanging out in the wildnerness and back roads in the gorgeous afternoons. this place always makes me appreciate wide open spaces. i've been so fortunate to live in a place that's as beautiful as it is here. i hope to come here always.
